About Me

365 Graves in a Year

I am an artist based in DFW, enamored with how humans approach death and memory.  Death matters nothing to the dead, only the living create the ritual and show surrounding mortality.

Deceptively considered morbid, haunted residual spaces, cemeteries are rather open and inviting. They tell the story of the land, mark the passage of holidays, allow intrusion and inclusion in ways inhibited by social etiquette.

Flowers perennially litter the landscape with depressions in the grass.  Families gather to BBQ on the weekends and mothers lay on their children's graves.   Some are absorbed and forgotten, a cemetery can only survive with a caretaker.

Death is for the living.  If life is divine, so too must be death.
